You can set up your e-mail in Windows Mobile using the normal IMAP protocol in the same way as you do on your desktop computer. This will work fine, but IMAP as a protocol is not designed to be used over slow and expensive data networks such as GPRS or HSDPA. Instead of using IMAP, it is therefore recommended to use ActiveSync which has a protocol designed specifically for mobile devices. The advantages of this protocol are that you will save bandwidth, which consequently means that your e-mail will be downloaded quicker and your battery life will be longer.
Follow the guide below to set up ActiveSync with Windows Mobile.
First start the ActiveSync program from the Programs section of your start menu.

You will now need to add a new server source.

Enter the e-mail address you wish to use - it does not have to end in digital-crocus.com, you can use any of the domains you host with us here. Ensure that you disable automatic detection of the settings as our server does not support it.

On the following page you must enter login.digital-crocus.com as the server address (please note, this is different to our normal e-mail server addresses). You will also have to disable SSL (or install our SSL certificate - guide coming soon).

Enter either your main account name and password here or the username and password for a mailbox you have created via our control panel. The domain should always be "digital-crocus.com" - this does not relate to your sender e-mail address and will never be seen by anyone.

Ensure that only e-mail synchronization is enabled as our server does not support the other forms of synchronization.

Select E-mail and click on the "Settings..." button to bring up the following screen:

The settings above are a question of personal preference - if you're using a data plan on which you have to pay per megabyte used, you may find it better to lower some of the numbers to save on bandwidth. When you're done with these settings open the Advanced e-mail settings by clicking on the "Advanced..." button.

The final step is to insert your e-mail address in the 'My e-mail addresses' field. Again, this address can end in any domain name that you host with us - you do not have to use digital-crocus.com.
And that's all there is to it - Click OK on e-mail settings dialogs and then select finish on the ActiveSync setup wizard. Your phone will then download the initial list of e-mail - it's recommended that you do this from a fast and cheap internet connection (use Wifi or a USB cable if you're paying for mobile data).
